      London Mental Health South are looking to recruit a Support Worker to provide support to customers in accommodation based services in the Waterloo area.

      This role isn’t an everyday standard support role, at Greet Street you will be actively supporting our customers to become independent and encouraging them out of isolation by using a creative approach.

      There are no limits to what you can do to make the lives of our customers more enjoyable an meaningful, our customers enjoy activities, one on one support session away from the scheme and being listened to.

      Good awareness of the needs of people with mental health support needs is essential, as well as a strong commitment to supporting customers to receive an effective service which supports them to maximise their choice, independence and quality of life during their progress to recovery.

      The successful candidate will need to have excellent communication skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office programmes and Family Mosaic’s internal systems, as well as proven ability to communicate well with our customers, colleagues and key stakeholders.

      The successful candidate will be required to work with our customers in a person centred approach, focusing on recovery and supporting people to become independent and supporting them to move on.

      The successful candidate will be responsible for a caseload of 11, including responsibilities for carrying out needs and risk assessments, support plans, reviews, attending CPA meetings, delivering best practice in safeguarding, and partnership working.

      This role is not on a rota basis therefore the successful candidate will need to be available to work Monday – Friday between 09:00 and 17:00

      An exciting opportunity has arisen in our Supported Housing department for an enthusiastic Mediation/Health and Well-being Worker to work with our young people in Greenwich. The post is 30 hours weekly and your hours will need to fit the demands of the services and therefore some weekend and evening working will be required.

      You will be responsible for managing a case load of mediation customers and co-ordinating a range of activities and programmes which will focus on improving the health, well-being, employability and meaningful occupation for our customers. You will be required to write successful funding bids to finance the activities and you will need to build excellent partnership working arrangements with community services in order to deliver high quality programmes. You need to have an excellent understanding of the support needs of young people in Greenwich and their barriers to engagement and independent living. You will be working with a range of customers including those who have mental health and substance misuse issues, ex-offenders and those who lack the skills to live independently. You will be able to manage conflict and challenging behaviour positively and support customers presenting in crisis. You will also be able to manage risk to customers, staff and the public. You require excellent time-management and organisation skills and will work in harmony with, and compliment, the work of a small team of floating support workers.
