Housing Support Worker - Bexhill-On-Sea, East Sussex

    • Pathways require a Housing Support Worker for a 12 bed supported housing scheme in Bexhill-on-Sea.

      This is a part-time role - 15 hours per week on a shift pattern including early, late & weekends.

      The role will include unsocial hours and cover over 365 days per year as well participation in the out of hours on call service.

      Previous experience of working with vulnerable people is essential.

      The role will involve keyworking, support planning, risk assessing, supporting residents both in groups and on a 1:1 basis.

      Staff will be required to Lone Work.

    Complex Needs Assertive Outreach/Hostel Worker, Southend-on Sea

    • The role is dedicated to the continued delivery of support to customers using Drugs & Alcohol and other complex adults in Southend, who have been traditionally hard to engage in services designed to reduce the negative impacts of their substance use. This role will also look at accommodation options for customers who sleep rough in order to reduce the numbers on the streets as part of the Rough Sleeper Initiative.

      The role will be delivered on a rota basis, predominantly out of hours (early and late), this includes weekend working.

      You will hold a caseload of up to 8 complex individuals at any one time with a view to supporting them to engage in dedicated drug and alcohol treatment services/mental health and allied support as necessary. 

      Please note this is a Secondment/ Fixed Term opportunity until 31 March 2020.

      The rota is a 7 day a week rolling rota including weekends and bank holidays – shifts will be 8am-4pm and 2pm-10pm.

      The role will involve working with ex offenders, substance misuse, young people who are either homeless or care leavers and with single homeless referrals to our 28 day stay hostel.

      You will manage 6 staff – carry out 1:1 supervisions, address any issues with under performance and support staff with any scheme issues.

      There will be a need to complete paperwork often with a deadline and to work well with external services and stakeholders such as social workers, commissioners, offender management and mental health teams and substance misuse services. Attending meetings and manage quarterly contract meetings.
