    • We are looking for caring and compassionate people who can coach and support people with learning disabilities to live their best life. Joe, Louise and Sarah live together in a bungalow in Braintree, they like outings, music and visiting friends. For this role you will be required to cover Braintree and the surrounding areas.

      We have full time (37.5 hours) or part time hours available, on a permanent basis.  Relief hours also welcome.  You will be offered a competitive salary of £17,550 per annum (£9.00 per hour), sleep ins £73.89.

The scheme provides support & accommodation to young people aged 16-21 years. The scheme operates 24 hours, 7 days a week, across 365 days per year (incl. weekends & bank holidays). The staff team work within a rolling rota which includes 1-2 sleep in duties on average per week.

      We are looking for someone who has a flexible approach to work with great communication skills. You will also have a good understanding of the issues facing vulnerable young people; experience of working alongside individuals with medium-high support needs who present challenging & risky behaviours. A good knowledge of the benefits system and entitlements available to young people. You will be key working individuals, empowering them to build upon and develop their independent living skills, supporting them to move forward into independent living.

      You will have a good knowledge of welfare benefits, Risk assessments and support planning processes, safeguarding of vulnerable adults and children, able to promote independent living skills, advice and guidance around tenancy management, employment education and training. 

      Good communication skills and computer skills are vital, as is the ability to keep accurate records, work as part of a team and manage a caseload.
